Amatullah Aaisaheba: the Amat Of Allah, most endearingly referred to as Busaheba by all, was the fragrance of the home of Al Dai al Mutlaq, al Hayyul Muqaddas Syedna Mohhamed Burhanuddin Saheb (R.A)
I vividly recall going to meet Busaheba for Eid as a young teenager. As I entered her room there would be a wonderful smell of bukhur wafting through the air and Busaheba wearing the beautiful traditional dress (ghagra and odna). She had a beaming smile and a welcoming warmth in her eyes. There would be a lot of women who would be there but she gave each one of us personal attention and would patiently listen and resolve the issues. We never left her home without the partaking of delicious treats- sometimes made by Busaheba herself. It was amazing how she took care of the little things with a personal touch.
Today on her Milaad, 15th Zilhaj, her memory, which is so vividly etched in our hearts and minds, is reinvigorated.
She was the epitome of womanhood.
She was the institute of ideal motherhood.
She was an outstanding example on how to do selfless khidmat of Moula and mumineen with devotion and dedication.
She truly worked from the four corners of her home but touched the lives of mumineen all around the world.
Her ever smiling countenance attracted everyone like bees to honey. She was always there to lend an ear to the problems that mumineen encountered; she was the link who put forth their arzi to Moula and brought them closer and closer to Moula. She was married to Syedna Mohhamed Burhanuddin Saheb (RA) and raised seven Shahzadas and three Shahzadis with love and affection and made each one of them a pillar of Dawat inculcating in each of them the values of humbleness and endless service for Moula and mumineen.
Years after her passing Moula( RA.) witnessed the khidmat of his children and praised Amatullah Aai, crediting her for their loyalty, courage, and wisdom in serving the dawat.
Her unique contribution of the shahidana made of pure gold on the Kabar Mubarak of Al Dai Al Ajal Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed (RA) will always be cherished. It will always serve as a reminder of her impressive pedigree that, through her, shines in our Moula (TUS.) She herself was a descendent of Syedna Qutbuddin (RA.) and Imam Jaafar ul Sadiq (AS.)
She was also extremely intellectual and published the sahifa which we all recognize as Busaheba Sahifa. Along with several other books that continue to be a source of guidance. She illuminated the meaning of ‘hadiya’ by proving that a true gift is one through which the person receives ‘hidayat’. For that, she gifted mumineen the sahifa that solves day to day queries in the ahkaam of shariat.
In the year 1397 Hijri, Burhanuddin Moula (RA.) bestowed upon Busaheba the Sharaf of Hadiyat and also honored her with the title
‘Khalesato Naebe Amiril Mumineen’ which means ‘She who is pure for the vicegerent of the Imam.’ It is indeed a great testament to her virtuous character and an outstanding example to one and all.
As Allah had ordained, Busaheba at the age of seventy six breathed her last breath on 12 th Rabiul Awwal , 1415 in London. Moula (RA.) emotionally eulogized her by saying: “60 waras nu sanghaat chuti gayoo!”Her fragrant memory lingers on as does her passion for charitable work in the trust that is established as Amatullah Aai trust in different parts of the world. The trust is providing benefit to the mumineen who continue to cherish her memory.
May Allah bless us with the opportunity to travel to London and perform her ziyarat and to seek guidance as to how to adhere to her seerat mubarak.
May He grant the light of their eyes; Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin (TUS.) a long, prosperous life in the khidmat of dawat till the day of judgment.
