I only have to close my eyes and think
And in his unfathomable wisdom I sink
In his eyes and in his contented smile
In his greatness that words can’t compile

He is a scholar and a revered teacher
An untiring traveller, a spiritual preacher
An ambassador of goodwill, a philanthropist
Oh his deeds go down a never ending list

The incumbent of the office of Dai Al Mutlaq
The harbinger of kindness and good luck
The 52nd leader of the Dawoodi Bohra
A community flourished in his divine aura

His holiness Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin
Born in Surat on 6th march in the year 1915
His divinity and wisdom came in glut
His birth foretold the glory of Fatemi Dawat

At an early age, he memorized the Quran
Learned to weave magic like his words were yarns
Under his learned father’s disciplined tutelage
At the age of 19, he adorned the spiritual stage

He was conferred the title of Umdatul-Oloma-El-Muwahedeen
There’s no doubt that greatness was in his genes
He was also conferred to the historic title of Mansur-Ul-Yaman
In twelve centuries this title was given to none

He restored Al-Jamea-Al-Anwar to its original splendour
He turned us from borrowers to lenders
He freed us from the chains of interest
He lifted the weight of sins from our chest

1976 he lectured in Albert Hall when he visited London
1982 he was awarded the ‘Order Of The Star Of Jordan’
1986 the mayor of Houston declared 8th August his day
1988 “The Key of Lahore” was presented in his way

Little can be said from all that he’s done
Millions and millions of hearts he’s won
Today his absence can more than be felt
Thinking of that heavenly face my heart melts

It’s been three years but the pain doesn’t go
Every word he’s said, we still hear the echo
Hearing his name the tears do not cease
But we know, in Raudat Tahera he lies in peace

Our benevolent father is no longer amidst us now
But his rightful son takes the role and how!
O Mufaddal Aqa we see him in you
You’re his reflection, his replica through and through
